Up and running!
SCRIMPS, I’M READY FOR EM
SCRI MP S
I still can’t get over scrimps. It’s the first new word to enter my life in 2k18 and it brings me Great Joy. Shoutout to @hella-free-space.
I’m glad the word scrimps brings you Great Joy! Scrimps should bring everyone Great Joy
Yo where did you get this beauty???
It was a gift so I’m not sure where it came from. Probably ordered online. It’s the marineland 3 gallon
What type of scrimps are you getting?
Bees!! Probably blue bolts, shadow pandas, and/or red wines!
Are you putting all in the same tank? Because those will all interbreed and ruin the colour strains, and those shrimp are generally pretty expensive
I intend to, yes. I’m not particularly concerned about keeping them pure, but was iffy about the red wines for this reason. I’ll probably just keep BB and shadow pandas together.
I was looking online (because I don’t have any experience with these coloured shrimp, they’re way out of my price range, but pretty) and I think BB are crossed with either BKK or regular pandas to create shadow pandas, so if they did interbreed they might actually intensify the colouration
I’d be interested to see what the result would be if they did interbreed!
Yeah, the BKKs and shadow pandas already have the BB genes, so I’m not concerned with keeping them together. I’m not sure on the red wine, but leaning towards no because of all the new colors it would bring in haha.
I’m not concerned with breeding my shrimp in pure lines and keeping the colors straight for myself, but I don’t want to make a mess for anyone who potentially ends up with my shrimp.
I found a reputable breeder who sells the colors I’m looking at for $8- $13 dollars per shrimp, which seems cheap compared to what other places have had them listed as.
hooooo man those are some of my fave shrimps and i’m even MORE excited for this tank now. heck.
also i saw this chart a while back, if that helps :p
The knowledge that Taiwan bees can come in green flavor has crippled me
Sometimes I just stop and think about the fact that you referred to them as flavors
